My sim isn't getting abducted ?!?

something is obviously wrong, my sim use to et abducted by aliens in the sims 2 pet collection for pc, but for some reason now i CANT get abducted, i type in the cheat the shift- click the telescope and i try to abduct them but when the go up to it, a blueish picture comes above there head in a thought bubble and it looks like a shooting star.. anyway i would like to be able to get abducted again so please help
